Art Tech Media Group LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), a Delaware limited liability company, operates the EMBA Collective network and the Johanna AI WhatsApp-based introduction service (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information. By completing onboarding with Johanna AI or continuing to use the Service, you acknowledge and consent to the practices described in this Policy

    Information We Collect

Information you provide. When you use the Service, we collect information you voluntarily share through WhatsApp, including:

    • Your name
    • Your phone number (provided automatically through WhatsApp)
    • Your EMBA program and graduation year
    • Your current role, company, and professional background
    • Your city and state
    • Your industry interests
    • Your networking goals, stated intents, and preferences, including updates over time

Information generated through your use of the Service. To operate and improve the Service, we also collect and generate:

    • Records of introductions made, accepted, declined, or paused
    • Your responses, feedback, and outcome reports related to introductions
    • Engagement and interaction data, such as message timestamps, response patterns, and participation in Service features or events
    • Profile change history and timestamped records of your declared goals and intents

Information we do not collect. We do not request or knowingly collect Social Security numbers, driver's license or state ID numbers, financial account numbers, payment card numbers, government identification numbers, health information, biometric data, or precise geolocation data. Please do not send this information to Johanna AI. If you do, we may delete it without notice.

    How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

Create and maintain your member profile within the EMBA Collective network

    • Match you with other members based on interests, goals, location, seniority, and program diversity
    • Send you introductions, Service updates, event invitations, and other communications related to the network via WhatsApp
    • Evaluate introduction outcomes and improve the quality of our matching over time
    • Develop, operate, and improve the Service, including training and refining our matching logic
    • Produce aggregated and de-identified analytics, insights, reports, and data products (see Section 4)
    • Verify eligibility, enforce our Terms of Service, prevent fraud and abuse, and protect the safety of members and the Service
    • Comply with legal obligations and defend our legal rights
    Information Sharing

Introductions. When Johanna AI makes an introduction, both members receive the other's name, role, program, and phone number. Introductions are one-to-one. We do not publish member directories or broadcast your information to the membership at large.

Service providers. We share information with vendors who process it on our behalf to operate the Service, including cloud database and hosting providers (currently Supabase), messaging infrastructure (WhatsApp, operated by Meta Platforms, Inc.), and AI processing providers (currently Anthropic). These providers process data under their own terms and security commitments.

Institutional partners. We may share aggregated or de-identified insights about network activity — such as engagement levels, intent trends, and outcome statistics — with institutional partners such as universities, career development offices, and sponsors. These insights do not identify individual members. We will not disclose your individually identifiable profile to an institutional partner without your consent.

No sale of personal data. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing or advertising purposes.

Legal and safety disclosures. We may disclose information when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or is reasonably necessary to enforce our Terms of Service, investigate suspected fraud or misuse, or protect the rights, property, or safety of our members, our business, or others.

Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of some or all of our assets, member information may be transferred as part of that transaction. Any successor will remain bound by commitments materially consistent with this Policy or will notify members of changes.

    Aggregated and De-Identified Data

We may create aggregated or de-identified data from information collected through the Service — meaning data that no longer identifies you individually. We own all aggregated and de-identified data and all analyses, reports, benchmarks, and data products derived from it, and may retain and use such data for any lawful purpose, indefinitely, including after you leave the Service or request deletion of your personal information. We will not attempt to re-identify de-identified data.

    Data Storage, Security, and Retention

Your data is stored using industry-standard cloud infrastructure with encryption in transit and at rest. Access to member data is restricted to authorized administrators.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and applicable regulators as required by law, including Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 93H where applicable.

We retain personal information for as long as your membership is active and as long as reasonably necessary afterward to operate the Service, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and comply with legal obligations. Aggregated and de-identified data may be retained indefinitely (see Section 4).

    Your Choices and Rights

You can control your participation at any time by texting Johanna:

    "pause" — stop receiving introductions

    "resume" — restart introductions

"update" — change your profile information

"status" — view your current profile

Deletion. To request deletion of your personal information, email ycataldo@alum.mit.edu. We will delete your personal information within 30 days, except that we may retain (a) aggregated and de-identified data, (b) records reasonably necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, or maintain the integrity and safety of the network (for example, records related to a member removed for misconduct), and (c) residual copies in routine backups, which are purged on a standard cycle.

Verification. We may take reasonable steps to verify your identity before acting on a request, such as confirming the request from your registered WhatsApp number.

Where applicable law grants you additional rights regarding your personal information, we will honor those rights as required by that law.

    Third-Party Services

The Service operates through WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta Platforms, Inc. Your use of WhatsApp is subject to WhatsApp's own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, and we are not responsible for Meta's data practices.

We use Anthropic's Claude API to power matching and introduction generation. Member profile information (excluding phone numbers) may be processed through the Claude API. Anthropic processes API data subject to its own commercial terms and data usage policies, and does not use our API inputs or outputs to train its generally available models.

    Children's Privacy

The Service is intended solely for adults who hold or are pursuing an Executive MBA degree. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 18. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it.

    International and Interstate Use

We are based in the United States and the Service is intended for use in the United States. If you access the Service from elsewhere, you understand your information will be processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

    Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates are effective when posted, and the "Last updated" date will reflect the current version. We will notify active members of material changes through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.

    Governing Law and Disputes

This Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from this Policy or our data practices is subject to the dispute resolution, arbitration, and class action waiver provisions of our Terms of Service, which are incorporated here by reference. Nothing in this Policy limits any rights you may have under applicable law that cannot be waived by agreement.
